South Africa: South Africa is a large, diverse and incredibly beau7ful country. Occupying the southern 7p of Africa, its long coastline stretches more than 2 500km - from the desert border of Namibia on the Atlan7c coast, southwards around the 7p of Africa and then north to the border of subtropical Mozambique on the Indian Ocean.

Zimbabwe: In the heart of Southern Africa, landlocked Zimbabwe is enclosed between two rivers, the Zambezi River to the north and the Limpopo River to the south. In between is an inland plateau filled with kopjes (granite outcrops), beau7ful na7onal parks, rugged mountains and verdant forests.

Zambia: Zambia is a country of mesmerising wilderness that has an astonishing amount of wildlife. The birthplace of the walking safari, Zambia connects you to the African con7nent in an in7mate and awe-inspiring way. The Zambezi River is considered one of Africa’s migh7est rivers and flows through Zambia with a plethora of species that congregate at its banks.

Botswana: The land-locked Republic of Botswana is situated between South Africa, Namibia, Zimbabwe and Zambia. It is oRen referred to as one of the wildest regions in Africa, because it offers such diverse safari op7ons in unspoiled environments. It is a place of endless horizons, with an abundance of wildlife, pris7ne wilderness, winding waterways, and desert landscapes.

Mozambique: Sharing borders with Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zimbabwe, South Africa and Swaziland, Mozambique is a coastal country of spectacular beauty. The eastern coastline offers nearly 2500km of beaches, coral reefs and islands, making it a favourite beach des7na7on with many visitors. It is a place of long stretches of deserted beach, swaying coconutpalms, lazy aRernoon siestas and sparkling blue seas

Namibia: Covering 823 145 square km of the southwestern part of the African con7nent, Namibia is a sun-baked land of rugged mountains, endless sand dunes and vast rocky plains. The country borders South Africa in the south, Botswana in the east, and Angola in the north, while the Caprivi Strip connects Namibia to Zambia and Zimbabwe.

Itinerary

Day 01
Sandton, Johannesburg

Upon arrival at OR Tambo InternaPonal Airport, you will be met by your English-speaking guide. Transfer to your hotel in Johannesburg via a brief orientaPon tour of the city.

Johannesburg is a vast city where opposites collide to create an interes7ng city of contradic7ons and extraordinary charm. Situated within the province of Gauteng, Johannesburg is home to the world’s largest urban forest of approximately 10 million trees. The city is the economic powerhouse of South Africa, and as a result has some of the most high-end shops and restaurants in the country. This urban sophis7ca7on stands in stark contrast with the many local street vendors and informal African spaza shops. The city has a surprisingly diverse range of ac7vi7es on offer: popular stops include the sobering Apartheid Museum, Cons7tu7on Hill, Nelson Mandela Square, and Sandton City. Townships tours are recommended, as is the fast growing crea7ve hub of the city, the Maboneng Precinct (meaning 'place of light'), as an inspiring place for urban ar7sts and boasts great restaurants and entertainment, art galleries and a neighbourhood celebra7ng art. Whether in the city for business or pleasure, there is plenty to see and do while there.

Hazyview, Mpumalanga

After breakfast, your guide will collect you. Depart for Hazyview via the Panorama Route. Stop at God’s Window (weather permiYng), Bourke’s Luck Potholes and Three Rondawels. ConPnue on to your hotel for check in.

Mpumalanga is Zulu for the place where "the sun rises" and is aptly named as it is one of the most beau7ful provinces in South Africa, with its spectacular canyons, rivers, mountains and impressive caves to be explored. Home to some of the world’s top nature reserves, including the Kruger Na7onal Park, visitors do not have to travel far to experience the many wonders of African wildlife and vistas. Amongst the province’s green valleys, orchards and waterfall-ed mountains, are quaint towns to be enjoyed for those wan7ng to experience more of the rich culture and vibe of South Africa’s people and cuisine. For those wan7ng the full spectrum of glorious vistas, wildlife and small town vibes, Mpumalanga is a treasure trove to be experienced.

Passport

Visitors to South Africa must have a passport that is valid for at least 30 days aRer the intended departure date from South Africa and 6 months aRer the intended departure date for the rest of Southern Africa. Passports should also have a minimum of two blank passport pages per country visited. The blank pages cannot include the endorsement page at the back of the book. If there is insufficient space in the passport, entry into a country could be denied. If you require a visa, youmust ensure that your passport has two blank facing pages - one for the visa and one for the entry stamp. Visitors who intend on travelling to South Africa's neighbouring countries and back are advised to apply for mul7ple entry visas. Visitors must have a return 7cket. It is essen7al that you check current visa and medical requirements at your local embassy or consulate of the country you intend to visit, prior to travelling. Please make a copy of your front and back pages of your passport. Have a copy in your luggage and one at home.

Checked Baggage

The following important rules for checked baggage will be applied at OR Tambo Interna7onal Airport in Johannesburg:

  • Only regular-shaped bags will be allowed to be checked in. This means that the bags must have at least one flatsurface to be accepted

  • Round or irregular-shaped bags will not be allowed

  • Bags with longs straps will not be allowed

    These rules are implemented in order to prevent blockages and breakdowns in the baggage-handling system caused by bagsthat do not have any flat surfaces or that have long straps or grips. Passengers who try to check in bags that do not conformto these rules will have the op7on of having their baggage wrapped with one flat side at airport-approved baggage wrapping sta7ons.(Any addi7onal cost for this wrapping service will be for the passengers’ own account)
